ENSCO was established by experienced energy market professionals and traders focused on systematic electricity trading. Based in Zug, we combine deep market knowledge with systematic trading methodologies developed specifically for power market dynamics.

Our systems are designed to extract market-relevant signals from high-volume, high-noise data environments. We combine artificial intelligence, machine learning, and domain-specific expertise to detect patterns in pricing, flow, and grid stress events. Trading decisions are highly automated, with real-time monitoring and risk controls. Model calibration and retraining occur continuously, based on performance feedback and changing market behavior. We focus particularly on Day-Ahead and Intraday volatility — driven by renewable intermittency, demand variability, and real-time grid constraints. Our models operate at short time horizons and are structured to avoid overnight risk. Execution logic integrates inputs from market coupling zones, TSO imbalance signals, and weather models to enable geographically informed trades. Our infrastructure is designed for redundancy, security, and high uptime.

We maintain a compact research and development unit focused on improvements to model logic, execution efficiency, and forecasting accuracy. This includes stress-testing signal reliability under extreme grid conditions, integrating new market data streams, and fine-tuning bid timing, size, and response to price formation mechanics.
